Little Secrets (Passion Pit)

Congratulations, you now know the secrets to my musical knowledge. Look on the right column, scroll down and you will see a few links I posted. All are sites I use daily to get my share of music news, recommendations, reviews, etc. Some sites even allow you to download free music!

Notice the title of this blog....Passion Pit

I knew this song a while back, but revisited it when I heard it on a Palm Pixi commercial. When I get obsessed with songs, I listen to them non stop. Anyone on my floor can attest to hearing this song numerous times.

Piano Version I WANT TO LEARN THIS!

Strange Times (Black Keys)

Go to class....or continue to watch The Black Keys on youtube????

October 30, 2009. Voodoo Music Festival. New Orleans, LA. It was about 60 degrees outside, pouring rain, gusts of wind, no umbrella, no poncho, but The Black Keys were playing - and they were playing harder than any band I've ever seen. Patrick (the drummer) broke 3 sets of drumsticks during their set. I can't wait to see them at Bonnaroo this summer.

Anyways, I woke up this morning, did my usual routine of internet browsing (facebook, email, mydrunktexts...)then I looked at the two music festivals that I will not be able to attend since they are back at home in Florida. BUT if anyone has friends in Florida, I highly recommend you tell them about this:

1) Harvest of Hope March 12-14th, 2010 (St. Augustine, FL)

Delta Spirit, Dr. Dog, Broken Social Scene, Kimya Dawson, The Mountain Goats && Portugal, the Man??? This festival is located right where I live, and last year the lineup was insane (The National, GIRL TALK!, Less Than Jake, Black Kids, Tokyo Police Club, Deerhunter, King Kahn & The Shrines, etc.) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going!!!!

2) Wanee Music Festival April 16 & 17th, 2010 (Live Oak, FL)

Since when did Florida have a good music scene? A friend of mine told me a few weeks ago about this festival that's been going on for quite some time. Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks, BLACK KEYS!!!!, Dr. John, The Meters, North Mississippi Allstars, George Clinton & P-Funk, The Wailers....If anyone has any common sense, they wouldn't need me to elaborate anymore. This lineup just screams Florida, and I'm jealous that once again I'll be in New Orleans.
